Fiscal Fallout Contest Winners Announced

Apr 15, 2020

For Immediate Release

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget today confirmed the winners for its first ever Fiscal Fallout Contest. The competition launched in November 2019 to give current students the opportunity to create compelling multimedia presentations on the social and human impact of unsustainable government debt.

Over the last five months high school, college, and graduate students submitted entries about how to raise awareness of the national debt, all of whom share a concern about the debt’s impact on our country and their future. To help convey the urgency of the issue, their submissions spoke about the need to address the national debt through podcasts, YouTube videos, comic books, storyboards and even rap songs, just to name a few formats.

Submissions were judged based on their creativity, ability to present a compelling narrative about the debt, and the urgency with which they conveyed the issue. Please join us in congratulating the first, second, and third place finishers, all of whom will receive a cash prize.
